Autochair take on DNEX

The DNEX exhibition is the North’s biggest and best Independent Living Event, which takes place on the 21st and 22nd October at the Metro Arena, Newcastle. The event is organised by Disability North which aims to promote inclusion, independence and choice for disabled people. They offer impartial information and advice on all things affecting disabled people including equipment and adaptations.

Autochair will be on-hand at stand 122, offering free help and advice on their range of vehicle adaptation products, together with 2 fully kitted demonstration vehicles. At the heart of Autochair’s success to date is its policy of listening to customers and making recommendations based upon their needs and the type of vehicle they own which is why they believe it is essential to come along to exhibitions such as DNEX to demonstrate and meet with the their customers.

A major feature on the stand will be Autochair’s Smart Driving range of vehicle adaptations which includes three new products, all on view at the event for public demonstration.

SmartDrive has been developed for people who are not able to operate their foot pedals. It is a push-pull control designed for hand operation of the brake and accelerator pedal in automatic vehicles.

The SmartTwinFlip provides operation of the conventional accelerator pedal on either the left or right side of the brake pedal in most automatic transmission vehicles.

Finally, SmartSteer is the latest innovation to be added to the Smart Driving range. SmartSteer has been developed to assist those drivers that find driving with two hands difficult, or who can use only use one, as it puts the vehicles secondary controls at the driver’s fingertips.

Commenting on DNEX event, Felicity Atkin, Marketing Manager at Autochair says, “The DNEX event is a great opportunity for people to try our product range of vehicle adaptations and ultimately find the one that meets their needs most. We will have experts’ on-hand, able to answer any concerns that people have. We will also be introducing people to our newly launched Smart Driving range. As a company we try and do key exhibitions around the country, such as DNEX so we can meet with as many people as possible face-to-face. We also strongly support the aims of Disability North to improve the lives of disabled people, something we have been doing for over 30 years.”
